DF Seeds is focused on Michigan Farmers
DF Seeds president, Janna Fritz, was recently named to the American Soybean Association (ASA) Board of Directors representing Michigan. Fritz joins Heather Feuerstein to jointly represent the state of Michigan on the ASA Board working to advance policy for the soybean industry and farmers. Last week, ASA held their board meeting in Washington DC and heard from Senator Debbie Stabenow’s senior staff. Kyle Varner, originally from Mid-Michigan, and Alex Noffsinger, former DF Seeds president Chris Varner’s son from Stockbridge, MI, presented the Senator’s Farm Bill priorities.
Varner and Noffsinger noted that Senator Stabenow is committed to the reauthorization of the 2023 Farm Bill. There have already been a number of hearings discussing farmer needs for the upcoming Farm Bill. The Senator views the Farm Bill as an economic development bill for rural America. She is prioritizing crop insurance, a strong farm safety net, helping farmers build markets including bio-based products and fuels, and expanding voluntary conservation programs.
We are excited to have Janna representing Michigan soybean farmers.
