Job Purpose

The Agronomy & Seed Sales Intern will assist the DF Seeds sales and production teams in all facets of our business in Michigan. The candidate will assist with a variety of tasks associated with testing and selecting new soybean and corn varieties, learn the seed production process from field production through shipping, and work with the sales team to learn the sales process. This is a paid internship of $15 to $20 per hour.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in organizing, establishing, maintaining, and evaluating field research plots.
• Ride along with Product & Operations Manager to provide customer support on product performance throughout the state.
• Aid in planning and hosting plot tours at the plots throughout the state.
• Compile observation data using Microsoft 365 programs.
• Assist in upkeep of the plots throughout the state.
• Safely operate equipment and tools.
• Work with dealers and customers to place field signs.
• Perform internal field inspections of all soybean and wheat seed fields.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, preferably in agronomy, agricultural business, or related field of study
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and have a safe driving record
• Able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
• Able to work in warehouse conditions with limited heating and cooling
• Flexible hours and/or extended hours may be required
• Strong communication, leadership, and time-management skills
• Attention to detail and ability to work without supervision
• Give and receive feedback to collaborate with others
